A hot spot is what we call a wireless network, located in a public place, that offers a simple and easy connection to the internet. On Viggo Smart Net’s “Hot Spots”, the connection doesn’t require changing the definitions on your PC. Examples of “Hot Spots”: coffee houses, hotels, convention centers, airports, etc.
A Wireless Internet Service Provider enables the connection of users to the internet through local wireless networks, mainly with the common 802.11 technology. The WISP is responsible for the quality of service provided. Smartnet is a leading and highly advanced wireless internet supplier in Israel and in Europe.
In order to connect to the service, you will need a laptop or a handheld computer with a standard internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox) and a wireless network card. If you don’t own a built-in wireless network card, you can borrow a connection kit for a deposit fee at the hot spot (not available in all “Hot Spots”) or purchase a wireless Wi-Fi 802.11b card in any computer store. You also need to make sure the card identifies the hot spot you are at.
Laptop owners can maximize the use of Smartnet’s wireless network. However, even if you don’t own a laptop, you can easily enjoy internet connection via internet rooms or “kiosk” work-stations operated in some of our locations.
In some of our “Hot Spots”, you will be able to borrow connection kits as part of our service if you don’t own a wireless network card. You can receive such a connection kit (for a deposit only) from the representative at the place of business or the hot spot you are at. Our skilled technicians or the hot spot team will help you when needed. The card is then connected to the LAN Port and the USB connection. (No software download is needed). The kit operates only on the Smartnet network.
After connecting to the Smartnet network, you have to open the internet browser. The default page that appears is your “access page”. On this landing page you can choose your preferred payment option, e.g.: purchasing a user name from the representative at the place of business, credit card charge, purchasing via roaming partners or charging the room in hotels (not all the above options are available at all “Hot Spots”).
Roaming is a process which enables usage of the same user name and password at different locations, even if they may be operated by different providers, through collaboration agreements among various WISPs around the world.

The Guest Place is your guests’ social media and networking board, where checked-in guest can see what others are doing, find peer recommendations and ask for the best experience around.
This is your opportunity to feel the pulse of your guests, interact and provide them with your best recommendations.
This is also one more opportunity for you to improve your service, contain bad reviews and generally show all your patrons you really care.
Try it out by pressing the “Connect with us” button and then “Guest Place”.
